About Us

OUR HOME AND NEIGHBORHOOD

After Bill retired from the Air National Guard, we found this lovely home, and in 2003, we moved here from Cape Cod Massachusetts. We enjoy being here so much that we decided to share our home and opened the Red Cardinal Bed & Breakfast.
When you come, spend an afternoon and relax on our patio with a good book. You can also watch the activities of the working farm adjacent to our property, view the ever-changing colors of the cornfields, or perhaps see a rainbow.
Take a stroll around the property and enjoy the multiple flower beds. From early spring, with the yellow forsythia and daffodils, to late fall, with the deep orange and purple dahlias and chrysanthemums, an array of perennials is always in bloom.
There are several raised beds where we grow a variety of vegetables and herbs.
On a hot summer day, sit by the stream (a millrace, which was man made in the 1800's for the mill up the road), and enjoy the refreshing breeze. Sometimes a great blue heron is feeding or a family of mallards is swimming by.
If you want to spend the day fly fishing, the Yellow Breeches Creek, a nationally recognized trout stream and a state designated scenic waterway, is a short walk out our front door.
We are motorcycle enthusiasts and welcome fellow travelers.
At the end of the day, there are complimentary snacks, home baked goods and a refreshing drink for you to enjoy.
